IL01: Jerusalem Highlights
We start the day at the top of Mt. of Olives for a view and a review of the city’s history.
Next we descend to the garden Gethsemane, and crossing the kidron valley we enter the Old City and join the “Via Dolorosa”
, walking through the streets of the old city up to the Holy Sepulchre
.
After a lunch + possible shopping break in the market of the old city, we continue to the Jewish Quarter and appreciate its synagogues and archaeological finds, including a visit to the Western wall
.
If there is time and desire, we can also go to a view towards Beth-Lehem from the hanging-olive-trees sculpture near kibbutz Ramat Rachel, and on the way back we pass by the parlaiment building (the “Knesset“); the Israel Museum
, and the Supreme Court Building.

IL02: Jerusalem’s Jewish Heritage
We start the day with the stunning view of the old city from the top of Mt. of Olives. Next we descend to the City of David and learn where and how “it all began” with the foundation of Jerusalem by King David at that site.
Next we head up to the Western wall and Jewish Quarter and appreciate the lunch break + shopping opportunity in the local Cardo mall. We then continue to the recently renovated Israel museum, and possible visit also Yad Vashem before heading back.

IL03: Masada and the Dead Sea
A ”hot” option - to head down to the lowest place on earth – the Dead Sea.
Driving to its southern part we first visit the famous site of Masada
, and appreciate its fantastic story and archaeological remains.
We then continue to Ein-Gedi, with an optional hike to its waterfalls. Combining a lunch break + an optional visit to the factory store of “Ahavah” (Dead Sea Cosmetics company), we end with a bath at the Dead Sea itself. Feeling younger and happier, we head back.
If time and permits we could also visit, on the way back, the site of the finding of the Dead Sea Scrolls (kh. Qumran).

IL04: Holy Christian Sites in the Galilee
Heading towards Nazareth, we first visit Church of Annunciation
and stroll along the local city market up to S. Gabriel church
.
Nearby we visit the church in Cana which commemorates the miracle Jesus performed in turning water into wine.
We then head towards the Sea of Galilee and stop for a lunch in one of the fish restaurants (“St. peter’s fish anyone?..”)
Happily fed we continue to visit Capernaum
and the nearby Mt. of Beatitudes and\or Tabgha, all important holy Christian sites around the Sea of Galilee.
If returning to Haifa, towards sun down we can make a stop in front of the Bahaian Terraced Gardens.

IL06: Jewish Centers in the Galilee and Golan
An excursion to the north, following Jewish central sites of late antiquity: Caesarea
, Beth Shearim, and Sanhedrin centers at Sepphoris, and Tiberias.
The tour can also include an extension of a second day tour to sites like Safed, Beth Alpha, Hamat Tiberias, Capernaum

, and Umm el-Kanatir

IL05: Splendors of Caesarea and the Carmel
We’re headed to the biggest city of Antiquity in ancient Israel – Caesarea. We will first appreciate the impressive remains of the city’s aqueduct, then enter the city’s citadel through the crusaders gate, view the port remains as well as the visitors center, and stroll along the shore to see the city’s hippodrome, theatre, bathhouse, and Herod’s palace.
We then ascend to the Carmel to visit the traditional site of the confrantation between Eiljah and the 450 prophets of Baal (Muchraka), and have lunch in a Druze village. Continuing to Haifa we will apprieciate the stunning view of the Bahaian Terraced Gardens, and possibly end the day with some coffee and knafeh at Wadi Nisnas.

IL07: Jaffa and Tel-Aviv
Departing from the port, we drive along the coast to Jaffa and appreciate its rich history and archaeology blending with the local art galleries and fishing boats. After a visit to St. Peter Church we stroll in the flea market, and then continue through the American Colony and Neve Tzedek to Ahuzat Bayit, where Tel-Aviv was established. On Rothshild blvd. we make sure to visit the Independence hall where the state of Israel was declared in 1948, and then we drive to see the site of the assasination of Rabin before heading back.
